Chief Science Officer (CSO)

As CSO at FCP you will lead the firm’s scientific, technological, and research operations. As an aviation and technology-focused advisory firm the candidate must be able to provide scientific guidance to clients, lead strategic and operating decisions and contribute to short, medium and long term strategy. The candidate must be comfortable making recommendations on future projects, such as new research opportunities or technological ventures directly to clients.  FCP often works in-house with clients to coordinate research activities by recruiting qualified researchers, managing personnel and evaluating their performance.  

In addition, FCP’s CSO will serve a major public relations function, by representing the goals and interests of the firm at conferences alongside clients and other senior staff. As such, travel is required to establish and maintain advantageous contacts in government, academia and/or industry. The ideal candidate will bring relevant subject matter expertise (commercial and private aerospace, defense and technology), a strong multi-disciplinary analytical approach to research and problem solving as well as the ability to manage and execute multiple client deliverables in a fast-paced work environment.

Successful applicants must demonstrate:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience

  • Background in systems architecture, software development in commercial or private aviation, defense or technology-focused field  

  • Prior experience analyzing systems and providing detailed analysis on a systems or product longer term viability assessing development approach 

  • Strong analytical skills and comfort with complex quantitative analysis

  • Strong interest and understanding of supply chain and M&A dynamics in relevant industries: commercial or private aviation, defense and/or technology 

  • Critical thinking, problem solving and troubleshooting capabilities 

  • Superior interpersonal, verbal, managerial and written communication skills

  • Moderate to advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills

  • Advanced internet research skills

 

Vice President, Client Services

As Vice President of Client Services at FCP your role will include leading the execution of client strategic and transaction advisory engagements including, among other tasks: conducting primary research and analysis; structuring, constructing, and managing client deliverable products; participating in and leading meetings and teleconferences with clients, target company management teams and customer representatives; coordinating and managing small teams of FCP personnel in the execution of FCP engagements; coaching and mentoring junior consultants to develop their skills and expertise, and providing related support as necessary to produce and deliver high-quality client work products on a timely basis.  The ideal candidate will bring relevant subject matter expertise (commercial aerospace, defense, space, and government services), a strong multidisciplinary analytical approach to research and problem solving, and the ability to manage (and execute) multiple client deliverables in a fast-paced, multi-tasking work environment.

Successful applicants must demonstrate:

  • Minimum of three years of experience

  • Prior consulting or advisory experience in the sector, especially in leading the execution of strategic engagements and providing transaction advisory services

  • Strong analytical skills and comfort with complex quantitative analysis

  • Skills in creating presentation deliverables, designing and implementing Excel-based financial and market models

  • Ability to identify key questions and issues, generate hypotheses, design and conduct research and synthesize and present conclusions

  • Ability to manage complex client engagements within a demanding but rewarding work environment

  • Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and build relationships with clients and target management teams

 

Senior Associate

This position is an integral element of the professional staff, responsible for the development and production of finished analysis in support of FCP’s strategy and transaction advisory practices. The ideal candidate will bring relevant subject matter knowledge and experience, a strong, multidisciplinary analytical approach to research and problem solving, and the ability to be productive in a fast-paced, multi-task environment.

Successful applicants must demonstrate:

  • 2-5 years of related work experience in commercial or private aviation, defense and/or technology industries

  • demonstrated track record of professional and academic achievement

  • ability to work both individually and in a small team to meet strict deadlines

  • ability to execute rapidly multiple tasks with significant attention to detail

  • experience managing complex analytical assignments

  • moderate to advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills

  • advanced internet research skills

  • ability to communicate effectively in all forms
